School Day Off & Snow Day Care at the Lake County YMCA
When school is closed, whether it's a planned day off or an unexpected snow day, the Lake County YMCA is here for your family. Our School Day Off & Snow Day Care program provides a full day of safe, supervised fun for children in grades K-6.
Kids will stay active, engaged, and social with a variety of enriching activities, including:
- Arts & Crafts
- Games and sports
- Swimming (when available)
- Group activities and more!
Whether they're making friends, discovering new interests, or just burning off energy in a positive environment, your child will love spending the day at the Y, while you enjoy peace of mind knowing they are in good hands.

The Central YMCA offers a fun, safe, and engaging full day child care program during scheduled school closures and holidays. Whether it's a teacher in-service day, spring break, or any planned day off, your child(ren) will enjoy a full schedule of supervised activities including arts & crafts, games, sports, swimming (when available), and more. With our caring staff and enriching environment, you can count on the Y to keep your child active, learning, and having fun while you're at work.

AGES: Kindergarten - 12 years old
HOURS:
Camp Care: 9:00am - 4:00pm (Don't forget to pack a lunch, swimsuit, and towel)
Extended Care: 7:00am - 9:00am and 4:00pm - 6:00pm
FEES:
Members: $40 / $5 Extended Care
Non-Members: $60 / $10 Extended Care
SNOW DAY CARE AT THE Y
Unexpected day off? We’ve got you covered.
When snow or weather-related closures happen, the Central YMCA steps in to support families with reliable full-day care. Your child(ren) will stay safe, warm, and busy with engaging activities such as crafts, games, sports, and swimming (when available). Our staff are ready to provide a fun and structured environment—so you can go about your day knowing your child is in great hands.
AGES: Kindergarten - 12 years old
HOURS:
Camp Care: 9:00am - 5:00pm (Don't forget to pack a lunch, swimsuit, and towel)
Extended care is not available on snow days
Snow days are ONLY offered if Painesville City Schools are closed.
FEES:
Members: $40 / $60 Non-Members
