Lake County YMCA cancels Annual Dinner, Golf Outing and 2020 Dream House

The COVID-19 outbreak has changed life as we know it across our nation. With our facilities temporarily closed to help slow the spread of the novel coronavirus, the Y is redefining all of its ways to fulfill our mission of building healthy spirit, mind and body for all.

The Lake County YMCA has taken much pride in annual events around the Lake County community.  Many of these events are scheduled to take place within the next few months.  Due to the Covid-19 outbreak and mandated social distancing put in place by Ohio Governor, Mike Dewine, The Lake County Y has had to make the difficult decision to cancel the following events:

  • The 2020 Lake County YMCA Annual Dinner
  • The 2020 Lake County YMCA Dream House
  • The 2020 Lake County YMCA Golf Outing

The leadership team is working hard to reschedule both the annual dinner and golf outing later in 2020, while hopeful to deliver the best YMCA Dream House in 2021.

We hope and pray that we get through this challenging time as quickly as possible and we can welcome employees and all of our members back into our Y’s soon.  The Y is thankful to members and community supporters through this pandemic, especially those who have decided to #StayingWithUs. “The Y is so much more than fitness centers and gyms, pools and locker rooms; we are a cause! Dedicated to strengthening (and protecting) the spirits, minds, and bodies of our friends and communities.”  Dick Bennett, CEO of the Lake County YMCA

 About the YMCA

The YMCA is one of the area’s largest nonprofits focused on engaging individuals and families in youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The Y is dedicated to helping people achieve goals, make friends and find a true sense of belonging.  Branches offer quality time for families to be together, resources for parents, and a variety of opportunities for seniors to be active.  The YMCA ensures these opportunities are available to everyone no matter their ability to pay with generous support from community partners and donors.
