Children's Morning Out Assistant Teacher

Description:

Assists in organization and teaching for the Children’s Morning Out (CMO) program  by providing a quality experience to children and parents that focuses on the YMCA values: honesty, respect, responsibility, and caring.

 

Requirements:

The Lake County YMCA is seeking Children’s Morning Out Assistant Teacher at the Central Y in Painesville for the 2018-19 school year. This program is a Christian based half day preschool which includes weekly gym and swim classes. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  1. Implements curriculum within the established guidelines.
  2. Designs and implements daily lesson/activity plans.
  3. Supervises the children, classroom, and all activities. Makes ongoing, systematic observations and evaluations of each child.
  4. Maintains program site, equipment, and required program records.
  5. Set up and clean up of material and equipment for class. Set up and serve snack items.
  6. Plan and teach children’s craft and/or developmental units as assigned by the CMO coordinator. Assist children in program activities.
  7. Create and maintain bulletin board for CMO program.
  8. Assist in swimming and gym classes.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. At least 18 years of age.
  2. Previous experience working with children in a developmental setting preferred.
  3. General Teaching and organizational skills.
  4. General Bible knowledge and the desire to communicate it to others.
  5. Ability to communicate well with others.
  6. Fun, energetic, creative and enthusiastic
PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Sufficient strength, agility and mobility to perform essential functions of position and to safely supervise children’s activities.
