Children's Morning Out Lead Teacher

Provides direction for the program and classroom, and implements program curriculum. Provides a quality experience to children and parents that focuses on the YMCA values: honesty, respect, responsibility, and caring.


 The Lake County YMCA is seeking Children’s Morning Out Lead Teacher at the Central Y in Painesville for the 2018-19 school year. This program is a Christian based half day preschool which includes weekly gym and swim classes.   1. Implements curriculum within the established guidelines.
  2. Designs and implements daily lesson/activity plans.
  3. Supervises the children, classroom, and all activities.
  4. Makes ongoing, systematic observations and evaluations of each child.
  5. Conducts parent conferences, and maintains positive relationships and effective communication
    with parents. Engages parents as volunteers.
  6. Maintains program site and equipment.
  7. Maintains required program records.
  8. Attends and participates in family nights, program activities, staff meetings, and staff training.
  1. Associate’s degree in related field or equivalent preferred. Previous experience working with children in a developmental setting will be taken into consideration if degree has not been obtained.
  2. Ability to plan, organize and implement age-appropriate/developmentally appropriate
    program activities.
  3. Previous experience with diverse populations. Ability to develop positive, authentic relationships
    with people from different backgrounds.
  4. At least 21 years of age.
  5. General Teaching and organizational skills.
  6. General Bible knowledge and the desire to communicate it to others.
  7. Ability to communicate well with others.

Sufficient strength, agility and mobility to perform essential functions of position and to safely supervise children’s activities.
