General FAQ
Can I volunteer at the YMCA?
Yes. Volunteers play a critical role in helping the YMCA fulfill our mission of service to the community. We welcome any skill or time you may offer. Please fill out a volunteer application form indicating what area in which you would like to help.
Is the YMCA a non-profit organization?
Yes, the Lake County YMCA is a local, community-based non-profit organization formed in 1866. A volunteer board provides direction to help the YMCA respond to community needs. Tax deductible contributions from the community make it possible to construct YMCA facilities as well as provide financial assistance so everyone can participate in YMCA membership and programs.
Can I hold a meeting or other event at the Y?
Bring your family, friends, scouts, school or other groups to a fun and safe facility. Our facilities are available for rent during specified operating hours. The youth center, pool, gymnasium, Springer meeting room, and pavilion are all available to rent.
How are we notified about weather-related cancellations?
The East End YMCA’s policy is to remain open for business in all weather unless there is a state of emergency or a power outage. Any closings or cancellations will be posted on our website.

Yes! Guests can visit the Y three times a year and enjoy full access to the facilities. A youth guest pass is $3, adult $5 and family $10.
What are your hours?
Hours vary by season and can be found on
the in our program guide or on our home page.
Do you have lockers?
East End has lockers available for member use. Members should bring a lock to secure their belongings. It must be removed at the end of each visit. Lockers are available for rental and cost $20 a year for a kit locker and $100 a year for a full size locker. Lockers can be rented at the front desk. Additionally, we have quarter lockers in the hall across from the fitness center. Members and guests of the East End YMCA are responsible for the security and safekeeping of their own valuables.
How old do I have to be to use the steam room or sauna?
The adult locker rooms are available to those 18 and older only.
Can I smoke or use tobacco while I'm there?
In accordance with our emphasis
on encouraging healthy lifestyles, the East End YMCA is a tobacco-free facility. Smoking is prohibited throughout
the building and grounds.
Is there a dress code?
