FAQ children

 
How old do my children have to be to participate in day camp?
Children must be in grades 1 through 8.
 

If a child is a member, do I have to join too?
Children first grade and up may join on their own as youth members.  Parents are
not
required to have a membership in order to supervise/assist their children. It
is possible to
pay for a day pass in order to use the facility with them.
 

Do I need to be in the building during my child’s programs?
Parents are not required to remain at the YMCA during the time their children are in
programming. It is up to their discretion to determine whether they are old enough
to remain on their own. 
 

 
How old does a child have to be to attend open swim without me?
A child must be 6 years old and able to swim in order to be in the pool on their own.
 

 
How old does my child have to be in order to use the Youth Center?
The Center is designed for ages 6 and older to hang out while their parents are using
the facility. It is open for children from 6:30-8:15pm daily. 
 

 
At what age can a child use Childwatch?
Children between the ages of 3 months through kindergarten can use Childwatch. 
The cost is $5 per year for a family.
 

 
Does a child have to be a member to go in Childwatch?
No. There is no hourly fee as long is the parent is a member. The annual fee is $5.
 

 
Can my child use the Wellness Center?
Children under the age of 7 may not use the center. Children between the ages of 7-11
can take a family orientation class which will allow them to use the facility with
the
supervision of a parent. Children ages 12-15 can take the Youth Fitness class in
order to use the Wellness Center without parental supervision.
