Age Groups

PIONEERS - Grades 1 and 2*
Introduces the fun of camping crafts, games, singalongs and more all in a kid-paced environment, with swimming, field trips and special on-site programs.

ADVENTURERS - Grades 3 and 4*
Experience YMCA camping at a new level with activities such as archery, art, field trips, humanities, weekly themes and overnights.  Campers build relationships to last a lifetime while developing important life skills through YMCA character values.

CHALLENGERS - Grades 5 and 6*
In addition to theme activities, older campers have a special focus on personal challenges and group skills, as well as additional field trips and activities throughout the summer.

EXPLORERS - Grades 7 AND 8*
“Big kids” get to participate in more adventurous pursuits including extreme sports, overnights and teambuilding activities with the adult demands of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility.  Additional adventures include rock climbing and fun on the low-ropes course at the YMCA Outdoor Family Center, plus opportunities to be certified in first aid and CPR.

Registration and Fees

Registration and deposit
Register for summer camp today!  All registration methods require a non-refundable, non-transferable deposit of $25 for each week a child attends camp. This deposit reserves space for the camper and is applied to the total weekly camp fee.

The balance of weekly fees is due on the Friday before each week of camp. A $10 late fee will be assessed to all payments made after the due date.

Financial assistance
Support from United Way and the YMCA Annual Fund plus special gifts from individuals allow the Y to provide financial assistance to those in need. Information is available at each Y branch. Applications are due by May 1, 2008.

Regular day camp hours
9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Some trip days have a late return time.  Please see the weekly trip schedule.

Extended camp hours
7:00 to 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 to 6:00 p.m.
All children in extended care will receive a snack.

General Information

More programs, more activities!
This summer kids have an expanded and improved array of camp activities to choose from all firmly focused on YMCA character development and all instilling the values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility.

YMCA camping is terrific fun and learning through crafts, games, archery, nature hikes, swimming and sports. There's also exciting dance, music and drama. Plus Big Wednesday trips and theme days.

Bus departure
Buses leave the YMCA at 9:00 a.m. and return at 4:00 p.m.

Check in & out procedure
Each camper must be signed in upon arrival and signed out on departure by an authorized parent or guardian. Photo ID is required.

Everybody's gotta have a YMCA camp T-shirt!
For identification purposes, each camper must purchase and wear a YMCA camp T-shirt on Wednesday trips. T-shirts are free for Y members, $10 for others. Shirts will be given to campers on the first day they attend camp.
